The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist/Psychologist/Social Worker (Mental Health – Forensic Community Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Deliver clinical services aimed at maintaining optimal level of consumer functioning
- Provide delivery of care in a variety of hospital and community settings including at external venues, consumers homes
- Apply professional knowledge and skills in clinical decision making under the practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician
- Contribute to the clinical education of students and other less experienced staff in consultation with the support of senior clinical staff
- Provide comprehensive care to consumers with an acute mental health issue
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work or Speech Pathology
- AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapist/Psychologist only)
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against – Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $104 816 – $112 236 per annum

The Forensic Community Team provide safe and effective management of consumers subject to Forensic provisions in compliance with the Mental Health Act 2016. The team works to enhance the overall knowledge, skill and capability of the service to understand this specialist area and compliance with legislative requirements. Based in Southport.
