MyStep to Mental Wellbeing (MyStep)
MyStep to Mental Wellbeing (MyStep) offers a range of mental health services from peer led group work and early intervention to individually tailored therapies for clients with complex needs. MyStep delivers services within a stepped care model comprising of different types of interventions matched to the individual’s needs at the time.
We also offer in-reach services into residential aged care facilities for residents who have, or are at risk of developing, a mental illness, such as depression, adjustment disorders or abnormal symptoms of grief and loss.
About the position
We are recruiting to the position of Adult and/or Child and Adolescent Mental Health fields. This position can be based in either our Wagga Wagga or Young office and is full-time (part-time negotiable), fixed term opportunity until 30 June 2023, with potential for extension.
This position operates in Primary Mental Health which aims to provide access to effective, low-cost treatment for people with a mental illness who may not otherwise be able to access services.

The Mental Health Clinician will work collaboratively within the MyStep to Mental Wellbeing team to:
- undertake individual assessments for adults and/or children and youth and their families
- develop targeted rehabilitation plans
- provide evidence based psychological therapies
- conduct collaborative case management with clients, their carers and families and relevant stakeholders to meet individual needs
- participate in service enhancement activities and initiatives

What you’ll need
- One of the following; current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist or provisionally registered Psychologist, Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist or accreditation with the AASW as a Mental Health Social Worker – candidates with Counselling qualifications and eligibility to PACFA or ACA are also encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated experience in undertaking comprehensive mental health assessments and development of intervention plans in collaboration with consumers and their family and carers
- Demonstrated skills and experience in providing holistic, evidence-based therapeutic services
- Understanding of the biological, psychological and social underpinnings of mental health
