Northpark Private Hospital has grown to become one of the largest private hospitals in Melbourne’s North, offering a wide range of surgical, maternity and mental health care for its patients.

Northpark is embarking on an exciting new Expansion Project to be completed over two stages – End of 2023 and 2024. Work has commenced on the major expansion of both the Northpark and LaTrobe Private Hospital sites to ensure the growing demand for quality health care across Melbourne’s Northwest are met.

The Expansion project includes:

· Expansion of our established Adult Mental Health Units by 22 beds, including establishment of a brand new 10-bed Older Persons’ Mental Health Unit

· Multiple new group therapy spaces, meeting rooms, interview spaces, a gymnasium and patient support areas

· Brand new Allied Health office space

· The Allied Mental Health team at Northpark provides a range of services across inpatient and outpatient programs, tailored to meet the needs of people with a range of mental health conditions. We offer services including Psychology, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Dietetics, Neuropsychology, Occupational Therapy, Music Therapy and Art Therapy.

Overview of the Role

Allied Health Clinicians (Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Psychologists, Mental Health Nurses, and Exercise Physiologists) are sought to assist in service provision primarily across our Mental Health Units at Northpark Private Hospital. The successful applicants will have experience with working with people suffering from mental health disorders.

Key Responsibilities include:

· Facilitating evidence-based group and individual therapeutic interventions for those experiencing mental health difficulties, within both inpatient and outpatient settings

· Working closely and collaboratively with psychiatrists, other allied health clinicians and nursing staff

· Attending multidisciplinary team meetings and representing your relevant discipline as needed

· Participating in the development and review of programs as required

To be successful in this role you should possess:

· Appropriate recognised qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing or Exercise Physiology

· Appropriate Registration with AHPRA under the National Law Act 2009 or relevant professional bodies

· Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently and effectively

· Experience in group facilitation within therapeutic frameworks

· Clinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care and continuous improvement

· Excellent organisational, time management and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work autonomously

· Ability to work as part of a high functioning, multidisciplinary team

· Highly developed interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated and patient-focused

· Current Working with Children Check

· Full vaccination against COVI9 19 and Influenza

Desirable:

· Experience in delivering a wide range of therapeutic modalities with patients across the lifespan and at different life stages (i.e., early parenthood, adulthood, late adulthood)

· Expertise in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

· Expertise in perinatal mental health

· Expertise in geriatric mental health

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant experience against the Healthscope Enterprise Agreement relevant to your profession.
