Epworth Rehabilitation and Mental Health is one of the largest not for profit, private sector rehabilitation and mental health services in Australia, with a total of 319 beds across four sites – Richmond, Hawthorn, Camberwell and Brighton. Located in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, Epworth Clinic, Epworth Camberwell’s mental health service, is dedicated to achieving optimum mental health outcomes for our consumers delivered in a recovery orientated framework

Epworth clinic provides inpatient and outpatient group and individual therapy for adults experiencing mental ill-health across the broad spectrum of diagnoses including aged psychiatry, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar effective disorder, and borderline personality disorder.

We are seeking enthusiastic experienced mental health OT to join our multidisciplinary therapy team at Epworth Clinic. The role will provide exposure to specialist therapeutic care within the private mental health sector and ongoing professional development opportunities. 

This role will concentrate on providing ongoing group and individual therapy and assessment for consumers experiencing mental ill-health primarily in our outpatient program (group day program and private practice) areas. We are seeking an experience Occupational Therapist with experience in delivering mental health focused interventions and a strong interest in ongoing professional development.

Skills & Experience

Successful applicants must possess the following qualifications and competencies in:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent as recognised by the World Federation of Occupational Therapy, and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Current working with children’s check
  • Sound knowledge and experience in sensory modulation and delivery of sensory based assessments. 
  • Sound knowledge and experience in basic functional assessments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and sound theoretical knowledge of current psychiatric interventions and best practice. Particularly in assessment and intervention for consumers experiencing mental ill- health in both acute and outpatient setting. 
  • Experience in delivering ACT, CBT, DBT and Mindfulness is desirable
  • Experience in working with complex trauma, PTSD and Eating disorders.   
  • Relevant experience in a hospital, rehabilitation or community setting
