The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist/Psychologist/Social Worker (Older Persons Mental Health Community) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Apply professional knowledge and skills in clinical decision making under the practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician
- Identify key community service providers and work within the service agreements that exist between these services and the Directorate
- Work towards initiating and conducting practice based research in accordance with organisational objectives
- Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary health care team
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work
- AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapist/Psychologist only)
- Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (Social Worker only)
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against – Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $76 747 – $112 805 per annum
About Us
The Older Persons Mental Health Community Team service provides specialised, community-based multi-disciplinary services, including mental health assessment and treatment, for adults over the age of 65 years (>55 years for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders) who have a severe and complex mental illness, which is complicated by problems related to ageing.
The service engages with consumers in their own home or residential aged care facilities and works collaboratively with specialist aged care services. Support is provided to consumers, their families, and carers across the broad continuum of care, including facilitating smooth transition to other appropriate services. Based in Robina.
