Be Recruitment is seeking a Psychologist (provisional/general) or Social Worker to join a community-based mental health team in Penrith. This opportunity will deliver assessments, brief intervention, case management and care coordination to young people ages 12-25 at risk of mental illness.
This role specifically supports young people experiencing a first episode of psychosis or is at risk of experiencing psychosis.
Duties:
- Provide assessment, brief intervention, care coordination, case management and support to young people aged 12-25 years and their families that are at risk of mental illness
- Responsible for delivering individual and group based therapy.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders and implement strategies and initiatives to provide support to young people, including group work and educational sessions
- Work independently and in a team when performing complex or critical tasks in a responsible manner
- Sound understanding of the challenges and sensitive issues that young people with mental health risks are faced with
- Demonstrated experience in using a recovery framework and strength-based approaches
Requirements:
- Previous experience within a community based Mental Health program
- Current NSW driver’s license is essential
- NSW Working With Children Check
- Social Work degree qualification and membership or eligibility for AASW or Psychology degree and provisional or general AHPRA registration
