Overview
You will contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive and integrated range of evidence-based, recovery-oriented mental health services appropriate to the needs of consumers and the Barossa/Gawler community. To achieve this, you will work with consumers across community, acute and rehabilitation service settings, utilising a combination of therapeutic approaches. Delivering services which promote self-determination and connectedness, you will collaborate with consumers to set, implement and develop ways to review their own goals. You will also play a pivotal role in planning and facilitating transitions between levels of service with consumers, their families/carers, the community mental health team and other services. Promoting service integration, you will collaborate with relevant agencies and individuals to ensure that consumers are able to access coordinated care. Consolidating your knowledge and skills, you will have the opportunity to develop in capability through continuous professional development and experience.
For appointment at the AHP1 or AHP2 level, you will hold a recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy or Social Work and have registration with the relevant professional association. For appointment at the RN1 or RN2 level, you will be eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current practicing certificate, along with a relevant postgraduate qualification in Mental Health practice. Applying your knowledge of the relevant mental health standards, acts and guidelines, you will be committed to providing mental health care that is consumer-centred and least restrictive. You will bring the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting, and possess effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
