Mental Health Clinician | Short Stay Unit Cornerstone Medical Recruitment

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinician to join the Short Stay Unit to support clients with short term admission and treatment for mental health concerns in Hobart and to reduce the significant number of access-related and overall treatment related issues for people presenting to the Emergency Department (ED).
  
The successful locum will provide specialist assessment and short term admission and treatment to this client to the Mental Health Short Stay Unit which is a 6-bed inpatient unit with clients expectant length stay of 24-48hrs.
  
This is a fulltime position (Monday to Friday) for a 4 week locum period.
  
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist assessment and short term admission and treatment to individuals with mental health problems presenting to Emergency Department (ED).
  • Support client short term (ideally less than 48 hours) admission for optimal treatment, management or observation of existing mental health issues.
  • Provide a friendly and therapeutic space for families and carers.
  • Improve quality of care and patient outcomes by providing rapid streaming to acute specialised psychiatric assessment, observation and treatment resources.
  • Support the implementation of evidence-based practice;
  • Provide appropriate community based mental health supports and other services

  
About You

  • Completed Degree in Social Work
  • Current registration with AASW
  • Current TAS Working with Childrens check
  • Experience in Acute Mental Health or Inpatient Mental Health

  
Salary

  • Casual Rates of $60 p/h + Super + Low Subsidised accommodation for locum period.
