MHDA Statement of Intention
The intention of the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) MHDA is to provide recovery-oriented, trauma informed services that are guided by evidence based practices and collaboration.
To provide nursing and health services as a member of a multi-disciplinary community mental health team which offers triage, assessment, treatment, ongoing case management and discharge planning services to individuals in Northern Sydney Local Health Districts.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Current AHPRA registration for relevant discipline – Psychology, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse, Eligibility for membership with AASW for Social Workers.
- Demonstrated, comprehensive mental health assessment and crisis intervention experience. Demonstrated experience and skills in suicide risk assessment and management.
- Experience working in community mental health and a demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act.
- Extensive case management/care co-ordination skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team setting.
- Proficient in working with data systems and computer skills, in particular knowledge of Microsoft Office Word software.
- Current NSW Driver’s licence.
