Thorne Harbour Health, Victoria’s largest provider of LGBTIQ+ health services is now recruiting for a highly skilled mental health counsellor to join its LGBTIQ+ and HIV counselling programs. The mental health clinician will provide high quality one-on-one targeted mental health support and suicide prevention services as part of CAREinMIND, a federal government initiative to increase access to effective mental health services for LGBTIQ+ people.
The successful candidate will be an experienced clinician with an understanding of trauma-informed and LGBTIQ+ affirmative practices, a broad understanding of evidence-based interventions for supporting high prevalence mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, a client-centred approach and a passion for working in these communities.
To be eligible for this position you must be a mental health nurse, mental health accredited social worker, occupational therapist, psychologist with experience in providing psychological intervention, or a provisional psychologist with robust and documented supervision practices in place.
