Mental Health – Consumer Lived Experience Worker

 

Based in Gippsland, Latrobe Regional Health are looking for a Mental Health Lived Experience Worker to join our Latrobe Valley Community Mental Health team on a part time, fixed term basis until August 2024.

 

Reporting operationally to the Managers of the Latrobe Valley Community Mental Health service and clinically to the Manager of the Specialist and Therapeutic Programs and supported by the Lived Experience Senior, the Mental Health Lived Experience Worker plays an important role in supporting and consultation with the aim of improving mental health service delivery by ensuring that consumers and carers have a meaningful input in the decision-making process at all levels of service management.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience as a direct consumer of a mental health service
  • Current Victorian Driver License
  • Have or be willing to obtain a Working with Childrens Check
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and liaise with other consumers, carers, staff members and other relevant agencies
  • Display an ability to work with the multidisciplinary team in a respectful and collaborative manner
  • Have good computer literacy
  • The ability to carry out the attached position description
  • The ability to follow instructions and encourage a positive workplace culture
