Youth in Mind Outreach Services incorporates a range of innovative youth specialist services offered to young people aged 12-25 in the North and North West of Tasmania.
We are currently seeking a Mental Health Clinician to work in the Short Term Psychological Interventions (STPI) program. The program offers short term therapeutic counselling and is delivered by a combination of face-to-face, outreach and telehealth.
Under the direction of the Clinical Lead and Youth in Mind Outreach Services Manager you will work as part of the multidisciplinary team providing:
- high quality clinical care for young people experiencing mild to moderate mental ill health
- evidence based psychological interventions, that are culturally appropriate for both groups and individuals.

Cornerstone Youth Services Inc. (CSYS) is the lead agency for Youth in Mind Outreach Services, based in Launceston, Devonport and Burnie. CSYS have been providing services to young people aged 12-25 in the community for over ten years. Website: www.cornerstoneyouthservices.com.au

What you’ll need
Approved tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing or Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist (full or provisional), Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse. Current membership OR eligibility for registration with AASW.
- Demonstrated competence in the provision of a full range of mental health services including mental state examinations and psychological assessments.
- Highly developed skills in managing risk and providing individual, family and group interventions for young people presenting with a broad range of issues.
- Ability to engage with young people and their families holistically.
Desirable
- Previous experience working in the youth mental health sector and/or primary healthcare environment.
