JOB DESCRIPTION

Be. Recruitment is currently seeking a Community Mental Health Worker for an outreach program in Sydney. This fantastic opportunity will deliver practical psychosocial support to clients in the community in achieving greater independence and goals. This role uses a strength-based approach to support clients in recovering from mental illness and supporting their family members. This full-time position works with a supportive and collaborative team & team leader. Previous experience in a community mental health program and knowledge of the social issues associated with mental illness is mandatory to succeed in this rewarding role.

Duties:
  • Support clients through strength-based and recovery support to clients to manage risk, goal plan and implement support services to adults with mental illness 
  • Build key working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders such as Social Workers, Psychologist, GP’s and other Allied Health professionals
  • Experience working with CALD communities
  • Ability to manage risk and respond appropriately 
  • Maintain clear and precise safety plans, support plans and assessments
  • Demonstrated understanding of recovery principles
  • Work collaboratively in a team
Skills and experience required:
  • Minimum of one years’ experience, ideally in a community mental health program
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or similar
  • Current NSW driver’s license is essential
  • NSW Working With Children Check
