Become an integral part of our dedicated team at Chrysalis, a Forensic Mental Health Service, as a Mental Health Peer Support Worker.
This is a Permanent Part Time role.
Responsibilities:
As a Mental Health Peer Support Worker, you will be an integral part of our team, ensuring the support and engagement of Chrysalis residents. Your role involves assisting residents using your personal journey to mentor clients, inspire hope, foster resilience, and empower clients on their path to recovery.
Key Duties:
- Provide emotional support, active listening, and encouragement to individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
- Implement Recovery-Orientated practices.
- Deliver trauma-informed service delivery.
- Apply lived experience of mental health challenges to engage and mentor clients to enhance their capacity and wellbeing in the community.
- Support clients in self-advocacy through planning, mentoring, and moral support.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Certificate 4 in Mental Health or equivalent tertiary qualification.
OR - Currently undertaking a Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, or equivalent.
- Full, unrestricted South Australian Driver’s License.
- First Aid and CPR certificate.
- National Police Certificate.
- DHS Vulnerable Person Related Employment Check, DHS Aged Care Employment Check, DHS Disability Employment Check, or DHS Working with Children Check.
