About the role:

Anglicare has an excellent opportunity for a Mental Health Practitioner – Shoalhaven Mental Health Network in Nowra.

In this role you will be providing assessment and therapy to meet the needs of Anglicare’s Metro Mental Health Network program clients with moderate to high intensity mental health needs.

The is a Permanent Part-Time role with the possibility to increase your days if preferred.

Key responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Provision to clients of therapies, information, support, advocacy and referral pathways – delivered 1:1 and in groups.
  • Promote the program to potential referral and service partners across the Shoalhaven region.
  • Assertively outreach to engage clients who would benefit from the program’s services.
  • Participate in client intake process through phone, online and face-to-face means using the IAR-DST tool.
  • Ensure that choice and control of clients and their safety and welfare drives all actions and decision making by working collaboratively with clients, service providers, carers, families and other organisations.
  • Build the capacity of clients to identify and work towards their goals, access health and community services and become more independent and socially included.
  • Ensure documentation and work practices meet organisational, legislative and funding requirements.

About you:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications applicable to role – Degree in Social Work
  • Current membership to relevant professional body – or working towards registration.
  • Mental health and/or suicide prevention experience.
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence and own comprehensively insured vehicle
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid NSW Working with Children’s Check
  • Covid19 vaccination, unless assessed exempt
