Exciting opportunity to join an established and experienced CAMHS teams based in a stunning coastal location in WA. This role is open to social workers and psychologists experienced in CAMHS.
CAMHS
Role:
- Provides assessment, treatment and counselling for Child & Adolescent mental health (CAMH) clients/families that are experiencing psychosis, suicide/self harm behaviours or other psychiatric disturbance
- Provides support / counselling for family / friends / communities of clients and works collaboratively with other agencies to provide this.
- Provide assessment and counselling for clients identified as being “at risk” of psychiatric disturbance, self harming or in acute distress.
- Acts as case manager for allocated clients and their carers. Plans, develops, coordinates, delivers and evaluates therapeutic group programs at an advanced level, for psychiatric patients
Required:
- Tertiary qualification in Psychology or or Social Work
- Registration with Psychology Board of Australia eligibility for or current full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
- Demonstrated recent & advanced clinical competence in a Child & Adolescent community mental health setting including triage assessment, counselling and crisis intervention skills with clients with acute psychiatric needs,
- Knowledge of community support services and demonstrated advanced community liaison skills.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience and advanced knowledge of the application of the Mental Health Act 2014, especially with regard to under 18 years of age within community settings
- WWCC.
- National Police Check.
