About the Role

12 month position to cover maternity leave.

The role of Mental Health Recovery Worker is to coordinate and deliver individualised recovery supports to people experiencing a severe mental illness.  Flexible and responsive non-clinical, holistic recovery-focused psychosocial supports are offered for up to 12 months. The role involves being the key worker and primary point of support for the client and will conduct ongoing and regular reviews of recovery goals and coordinate multidisciplinary and stakeholder meetings.

 About You 

You will have a solid knowledge and experience of psychosocial rehabilitation, social inclusion and recovery-orientated practice frameworks.  Some requirements of the role include:

  • Providing assertive and practical support to access services related to individual needs. Outreach and in-home, community based support.
  • Supporting with activities of daily living to foster independent living and social skills.
  • Facilitating linkage to ongoing community supports as necessary.
  • Assisting to resolve barriers to remaining well in the community.
