Remuneration: Dependent on qualifications:
Clinical Psychologist: $51.46 – $63.11 per hour
Psychologist: $35.92 – $53.40 per hour
Counsellor Level 1/2: $34.01 – $49.27 per hour

About The Opportunity
To provide research capacity and resources to the Academic head of ICAMHS research and the Infant Child & Adolescent Mental Health service with the aim of improving outcomes for children and adolescents. It is envisaged that this position will provide research support that will facilitate clinical research including supporting clinicians and seamless translation of research evidence to clinical practice and policy where relevant, in a preventative framework that would improve outcomes for children, young people and their families

What you’ll be doing 
To provide leadership and research capacity resources to the Head of Academic Unit, Child Psychiatry unit in the Infant child and Adolescent Mental Health Service with aim of improving outcomes for children and adolescents. This will include clinical assessments, both qualitative and quantitative, intake assessments of clinical trial patients, working with families, close liaison with other SWSLHD staff in consumer care, working with other project staff on developing the ehealth interface, ethics, governance and database work. This position will provide research support and the seamless translation of research evidence to Clinical practice and policy where relevant in a preventative framework that would improve outcomes for children, young people and their families.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Relevant qualification/ registration in one of the disciplines, as noted in the essential criteria (please refer to the position description)
  2. Relevant research experience in mental health field, psychology, epidemiology, health services research or relevant discipline, and/or substantial relevant work experience
  3. High level of skills working within a relevant research field with evidence of research output, productivity, and a strong capacity to work in a multidisciplinary team
  4. Demonstrated ability and experience in successful grant applications and industry funding along with excellent report writing and manuscripts preparations for publications
  5. High level statistical skills in two or more of: epidemiology, biostatistics, statistical modelling and capacity to oversee large and complex databases and use up-to-date electronic data management programs
  6. Detailed, practical knowledge of key statistical packages such as SAS, STATA, R, SPSS, M-PLUS, and demonstrated evidence of application with relevant research outputs
  7. Demonstrated leadership skills with excellent interpersonal Communication skills and the relate with a broad range of professional colleagues, Clinical and administrative staff, research partners and research participants
  8. Demonstrated skills in capacity building, research supervision with evidence of research output and demonstrated proficiency in outcome measurement, data collection and evaluation
  9. Attention to detail, accuracy, precision, ability to work unsupervised and take imitative and lead a team
  10. Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
