JOB DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THE ROLE: 

You will be part of the Community Plus team, a hybrid MST and HOPS program. It’s a recovery focused multi-disciplinary team who provides an extended hours clinical service to people who live within the municipalities of Wyndham, Hobson’s Bay and Maribyrnong. In addition to experiencing mental illness/mental health problems your clients will have other health and psycho social needs that significantly impact their wellbeing. With your team’s support, you will facilitate comprehensive responses for your clients’ needs and as senior clinician you will provide support and leadership within the team. 

  • Permanent Part-Time Role: OT3/SW3/P3/RPN4 (6 shifts per fortnight)
  • Friendly, innovative, professional team who are dedicated to helping people
  • Recovery based service delivering evidence based treatment for mental illness 7 days/week
  • Engagement with external service providers to develop integrated support systems
  • Based at our Saltwater Clinic in vibrant Footscray

 

ABOUT YOU: 

  • Registered with AHPRA as a Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, or Psychiatric Nurse or; An approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
  • Experience in managing an independent caseload, and delivering treatment or care to people experiencing mental illness using a recovery based framework
  • Experience with and understanding of interventions and services that support clients with complex interconnected needs
  • A willingness to provide support and supervision to junior staff and students

Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in south west metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Candidates are required to meet the position and qualification requirements.
  • Provide a current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check (Mercy Health may conduct additional background checks subject to current legislation).
  • Proof of vaccination status consistent with public health orders and with Mercy Health’s policy (includes but is not limited to COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccination compliance requirement).
