Avivo’s mental health program includes a range of non-clinical support that focuses on building capacity and stability for people aged 18 to 65 without NDIS funding who are living with a mental health condition that directly impacts their everyday life and seek assistance in their recovery journey.
We are looking for motivational, innovative, and creative people who understand strength-based recovery work to join our Mental Health Support Worker Team in the York & Beverley areas. The role will provide flexible support based on the individual needs of people with a mental illness, their families and/or carers.
There is no typical day. However, duties may include the following:
- Exploring ways to learn about physical and mental health and wellbeing
- Practical assistance around the house
- Building and maintaining relationships with family and friends
- Providing support to families and carers
- Helping people manage their money more effectively
- Supporting people to remain good tenants and neighbours
- Connecting people with their communities
- Work, volunteer, education, and training opportunities, and support people in pursuing them
- Helping people obtain funding, services, and support available in their community
- Investigating eligibility for the National Disability Insurance Scheme
About you:
- A current driver?s licence and reliable vehicle
- Engage with people living with a mental health condition that directly impacts their everyday life and are seeking assistance to achieve their identified goals within a structured individual recovery plan
- Demonstrated ability using a recovery-oriented, strengths-based and person-centred approach
- Ability to communicate with various people, allied service providers and team members
- Availability to attend paid training during the week
- Availability weekly hours to work between 8:30am – 4:30pm
- On the job training and buddy shifts are provided to the successful candidates.

- An hourly rate of $32.21 per hour plus super and afternoon/evening shift loading, weekend penalties and all leave accrual
