About the role
Due to continuous and exciting growth, we’re currently recruiting for multiple Permanent Forensic Support Workers to join our team to support a client based in the Hampton area.
You will be responsible for providing quality support and intensive community supervision to a participant with an intellectual disability who is moving into Specialist Disability Accommodation from a residential justice program.
The participant has previous offending behaviour and because of the seriousness of this behaviour has court ordered conditions to support him living safely in the community. There will be an emphasis on skill and capacity building to encourage independence and confidence for meaningful and active inclusion in society.
The hours of work available are 24:7 roster including weekday shifts, evening, and weekend shifts. Penalty rates apply on weekends, Public Holidays, after 8pm and after 12 pm.
We are only offering Permanent Part Time and Full Time positions.
About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have demonstrated experience providing support to participants with high complex needs and or behaviours of concern.
Your background should include Complex or Forensic Support Work and ideally you will have experience working with clients that are high risk and are currently involved with the criminal justice system.
Essential to the role will be a thorough understanding of mental health disorders and trauma, an ability to maintain professional boundaries and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
You will also have the following skills and attributes:
- Covid19 Digital Vaccination Certificate or Immunisation Statement
- Diploma level qualification in a relevant field
- Clear and effective communication skills and ability to establish professional relationships with participants and their families
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record management
- Flexibility to work over a 7-day roster and the availability to work overnight shifts or attend training or meetings as required
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willing to obtain
- First Aid, CPR, WWCC and NDIS Worker Orientation module
- Current Driver’s License with access to a comprehensively insured vehicle (mandatory).
