About the Role   

The MyStep Mental Health Worker works within the MyStep to Mental Wellbeing Program to competently deliver mental health and wellbeing activities to and for people experiencing mental health concerns.

The MyStep Mental Health Worker works alongside other team members to provide assessments, evidence-based treatment, and care coordination to people referred to the program who are experiencing emotional difficulties and seeking to improve their wellbeing.

The scope of practice of the MyStep Mental Health Worker will be determined by the Team Manager based on the Mental Health Worker’s relevant skills, knowledge, and experience. This will include undertaking a range of duties to support people who are experiencing emotional difficulties and to ensure appropriate service responses. 

The MyStep Mental Health Worker will be required to participate in quality activities conducted within the clinical setting and will be required to work according to NSW Health and MLHD policies, procedures, and standards.

Services may be provided in a variety of community settings and are reliant on the ability to develop and maintain good professional relationships with colleagues, community groups and partner organisations. 

The MyStep Mental Health Worker is required to observe and monitor the wellbeing of people when undertaking wellbeing activities, ensuring that any unusual physical, mental, or emotional occurrences are escalated and documented accordingly.
