About One Door
One Door Mental Health is a leading for purpose service provider for those living with mental illness, their families and carers. The Program
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown in Greater Sydney, the Federal Government has funded pop up Mental Health Hubs to:
- provide accessible, affordable mental health services and support in the community
- reduce pressure on Emergency Departments, and
- support GPs to provide treatment and care to people with mental ill health.
The One Door Mental Health Hubs will be delivered through a mix of video, phone, and face to face support.
The role
The Mental Health Worker will support people in mental health distress; after triage from the Mental Health Hub Clinicians, through:
- information and referral pathways, to resolve risk factors to mental health and wellbeing
- short-term support, where people cannot easily access other required services.
What we are looking for
- Tertiary qualifications in Youth Work (or related discipline) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of the factors impacting young people who experience emerging mental illness, and/or who live with mental illness.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, honest, and productive relationships with young people.
- Demonstrated experience in developing a recovery-focused plan, providing support and following up.
- Knowledge of the NSW mental health system and local services; or demonstrated ability to rapidly develop this knowledge.

- an application in process for the NDIS Worker Screening clearance at Service NSW
- under the current public health order, evidence of at least 1 dose of the Covid-19 vaccine or provide evidence of a medical exemption.
