Permanent part-time position working 38 hours per fortnight based in Launceston
Anglicare Tasmania is a non-profit organisation providing a wide range of community services to the people of Tasmania. We are part of the national Anglicare Australia network of organisations. Anglicare advocates for social justice and aids people in times of need. We provide programs relating to health, housing, families, drug and alcohol treatment and support and more.
This position provides early intervention programs to children, young people and families with parental mental illness.
The successful applicant will:
- provide the following early intervention programs across metro and rural areas in accordance with program guidelines and resources, Anglicare policies and procedures and National guidelines for Mental Health and contribute to the development of Anglicare’s Mental Health Services:
– Taz Kids Clubs – peer support & psycho-educational programs run weekly for approximately 7 weeks for primary & secondary aged children who have a parent affected by mental illness;
– Taz Kids Activity days – are days out for children with parental mental illness which provide a range of support and activities including peer support, creative and outdoor activities;
– Parenting and family support are groups designed to enhance the social connectedness of Tasmanian parents managing mental illness while parenting. - establish effective networks with other community support services, and liaison with community mental health services and/or key workers;
- maintain accurate case notes and statistics in accordance with service requirements and contractual arrangements. Complete clerical and administrative tasks associated with support work in accordance with established guidelines;
- assist by contributing to policy and procedure formation, annual evaluations, and other planning and quality management processes;
- participate in team-based processes including team-debriefing and case consultation, staff and volunteer induction activities, program planning activities, team meetings, training and skills development and offer support and guidance to other team members as appropriate.

The successful applicant will be required to:
- provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment/volunteer category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check if you are applying for the 1st time or have renewed your registration since 1st February 2021;
- present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people National Police Check (no older than 12 months);
- provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;
- undertake a satisfactory Anglicare assessed medical;
- provide a copy of your COVID-19 Digital Certificate (including booster – 3 vaccinations total) or a vaccination exemption on your Immunistation Register
- provide a current provisional or full Australian Driver License.
On commencement the successful applicant will be required to undertake our structured Safeguarding Children Training program.
