JOB DESCRIPTION

Concordia College offers continuous education from ELC to Year 12. We have three co-educational campuses located in the eastern suburbs of Highgate and the Adelaide foothills of Blackwood.

The College is seeking applications for the following position:

Middle School Student Counsellor
Fixed-term part-time – 37.5 hours per term week
Commencing Monday 16 October 2023 to Friday 28 June 2024

Concordia College is seeking a Middle School Student Counsellor whose focus is on supporting Middle School students. The College will expect the Middle School Student Counsellor to support existing programs, to respond to student needs as they arise and communicate key concerns to the School Leaders. 

The position requires a high degree of interpersonal skills supported by strong counselling knowledge and skills and an understanding of students in a Middle School. 

The Student Counsellor supports students in developing strategies to manage individual, peer, social and emotional concerns, particularly for Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 students.

The Student Counsellor will contribute to the existing Pastoral Programs within the school. The Student Counsellors support each other as the need arises and work in close collaboration with the School Leaders and the Year Level Leaders. The Counsellor will participate in student and staff activities and be a positive role model to students in a Christian school.
