Mine Surveyor – Jundee Northern Star Resources Limited

JOB DESCRIPTION

Northern Star Resources is the global gold growth company, with three large, high margin production centres exclusively in the tier one locations of Western Australia and Alaska, USA. Production guidance is 1.6 million ounces in the current financial year, before climbing to 2 million ounces by FY27.

Northern Star have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Mine Surveyor (Underground) at our world-class, fast-paced Jundee operation located within the Yandal belt. This is a permanent opportunity, working an 8/6 roster. 

Your main responsibilities will include:

Survey Mark Out of:

  • Drill and blast rings.
  • Mine heading development.
  • Exploration drilling.
  • Raise bore drilling.

Survey of completed works:

  • End of month development and ore stockpiles.
  • Stope surveys.
  • Mine heading development.
  • Geological mapping.

Support the Senior Mine Surveyor to complete:

  • Survey Instructions; horizontal and vertical development.
  • End of month surveys.
  • Dig permits.
  • Emergency Response Plans

Required skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Surveying or in Spatial Sciences
  • Previous underground experience as a Mine Surveyor
  • Deswick experience (highly regarded)
  • Grade 1 is highly regarded
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft suite
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work unsupervised as required
  • Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
  • St Johns Senior First Aid certificate (desirable)
