Monash University’s Counselling and Mental Health Programs unit provides clinical services and mental health development programs to promote student and staff health and wellbeing.

The Opportunity

The University Counselling Service is seeking Psychologists to work primarily on campus providing clinical services to students and staff of Monash University. You will be expected to have advanced experience working with young adults with complex mental health presentations including personality disturbance, depression, anxiety and early psychiatric illness. 

You will be working with a large dedicated and professional healthcare team consisting of GPs, nurses, mental health nurses, and other psychologists within the counselling team. 

We are seeking enthusiastic practitioners with strong communication skills who wish to contribute to the well-being of the Monash University community. To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a psychologist
  • An Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • Current Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • A current satisfactory Working With Children Check is required
  • This position will require a successful National Police Record check
  • A level of interpersonal skills that promote high quality patient care
  • A great work ethic and commitment to your patients
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A minimum availability of 2 days per week
  • Compliance with the Victorian State Government’s vaccination policy for health care workers

  • All appointment bookings managed by a professional reception team
  • Excellent collaborative working environment, positive teamwork and access to referrers 
  • Use of our Clinical software program
  • Support of a practice manager onsite

Please note:

This is a contractor opportunity and successful candidates will be required to enter into a contractor arrangement with the University. Payment is made at the hourly rate you would be entitled to claim under Medicare, minus a percentage license fee. Monash University is paying this contract and it does not involve Medicare. Some online mandatory training modules are required to be completed at the start of the contract.
