Your Opportunity
In this rewarding career opportunity, you will provide direct service provision to clients involving individual case management, intensive support, group work programs, outreach and the provision of information and supported referral along with support to and co-casework with other Navigator workers, provision of secondary consultation as required and some program co-ordination/leadership activities.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • You will form a co-operative and collaborative relationship with other service providers to avoid duplication of services and maximize the use of available resources whilst engaging and supporting the client group to overcome vocational and non vocational barriers to education.
  • You will work closely with mainstream schools and other education providers. Participation in inter-agency collaborations and partnerships, including networking and presentations to the wider welfare community is also part of the role of the Case Worker.
  • You will perform administrative tasks – including; case notes, recording of client data, writing client reports, developing individual pathway plans. You are required to work independently across a range of areas with support from the team and supervisor.

Requirements for Success

  • Relevant degree or qualifications.
  • The ability to deliver service outcomes on time and in compliance with funding requirements.
  • The ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A comprehensive understanding of issues affecting young people, who are at risk of disengaging or have disengaged from education.
  • Advanced skills in engaging and supporting the client group to overcome vocational and non-vocational barriers to employment and education and comprehensive knowledge of the service system.
  • Highly developed engagement and communication skills with young people from a range of backgrounds (including cultural awareness) and age groups, including the ability to model appropriate behaviours and motivate young people.
  • Ability to work autonomously in an outreach capacity and in relative isolation whilst maintaining resilience and accountability along with experience in the peer support, provision of secondary consultation, mentoring and maintaining a positive team environment.
  • Current Drivers License.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
