Navigator – Psychological Program Lead Navigator Group

Who we are:

Navigator Group is an established multi-disciplinary team encompassing injury treatment, management, and medico-legal assessment. The Navigator Group consists of three companies working closely together to deliver a range of medical and allied health services within Sydney and interstate. We take a holistic approach to treat both the body and the mind, supported by our comprehensive knowledge of compensable injury, to deliver optimal outcomes for everyone involved.

The role:

In this integral role, the Navigator – Psychological Program Lead supports patients throughout their involvement in our primary psychological program from when they are referred through to discharge. You will support the patient during their journey, identifying and provide counselling for psychosocial barriers whilst they undertake an assessment with a Clinical Psych and participate in targeted therapy while providing person-centred counselling support, offering empathy and solution focused engagement to empower workers during recovery or illness.

We’re seeking an experienced mental health professional with SIRA NSW accreditation as a Counsellor, Psychologist or Social Worker. 

Candidates with clinical background or Occupational Rehabilitation with evidence based treatment programs and looking for a clinical role are welcome to apply.

You will also:

  • Build rapport and trust-based relationships with people recovering from injury or illness, ensuring information, advocacy, support, and referral is available to injured workers throughout their recovery from their injury
  • Liaise with Navigator Psychologists and therapists to deliver evidence based and goal-oriented treatment.
  • Case conference with GPs / other treatment providers to support effective treatment planning, support the patient to access other services and support return to work planning
  • Communicate with referrers to support treatment planning and sustainable return to work outcomes.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor degree level in Allied health background (Rehabilitation counselling, Counselling, Social Work, Psychology)
  • Experience in counselling (CBT, trauma, SFBT)
  • Membership or registration with the appropriate body e.g. Australian Counselling Association Level 3 or a Clinical Member of PACFA or registered with Australian Psychological Society
  • SIRA membership for NSW workers compensation 
  • Experience in motivational and health coaching type environments
  • Excellent telephone manner, proven active listening skills, rapport building
  • Strong interpersonal skills with clients, organisation and stakeholders alike
  • Team player who can share experiences as well and learn from others
  • Ability to manage self within workload, schedules and cases, independently
  • Knowledge of the compensable injury industry
