Mentis Assist is one of Victoria’s primary not-for-profit community managed mental health service providers supporting people with mental illness and psychiatric disabilities.

With over 35 years in the providing high quality mental health support in Melbourne’s South East, we have supported thousands of people as they achieve their goals.

Mentis Assist supports individuals and their families, offering a range of services including one on one in-home outreach, consulting room services at our various locations, care co-ordination, group activities, family support and a suite of training and meaningful activity options.

A team member in this role will have a combined caseload of psycho-social recovery coach and NDIS support coordination clients. Full and part time positions available.

Multiple Positions

Our dedicated team are expanding, and we have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced mental health worker to join us in our mission to empower NDIS participants with a psycho-social disability. This is a mixed role of Recovery Coaching and Support Coordination where you will use your Recovery Orientated knowledge to improve the lives of others. The key functions of the role include:

• Walking alongside participants through their recovery journey, with focus on hope, strengths, independence, and meaning

• Building capacity and helping participants understand their NDIS plan.

• Providing coaching and recovery planning

• Empowering participants with knowledge and choice

• Assisting participants to source and connect with services.

• Liaising and coordinating with external agencies.

• Report writing

Our team of Support Coordinators and Recovery Coaches are passionate about creating lasting changes for our NDIS participants. We work closely with our participants and our team to encourage and learn from each other, and to stay up to date with the sector changes. We are looking for someone who has:

• Certificate IV in Mental Health at a minimum. Diploma preferred

• Significant experience working directly with clients experiencing psychosocial disability using a person centered and strengths-based approach.

• Previous NDIS recovery coach/support coordination experience – minimum 12 months.

• The ability to think innovatively and creatively to help clients achieve their NDIS plan goals.

• Case management and engagement skills

• The ability to collaborate and negotiate with multiple stakeholders including carers.

• Excellent time management, budgeting, and administrative skills

• Complete COVID 19 vaccinations

• Lived experience of living with or supporting someone with a mental health diagnosis.
