About the Program

Are you a New Graduate with a passion for Behaviour Support? Here’s an exciting opportunity to become a part of The Benevolent Society’s, very own IBIS Program (Intensive Behaviour Interventions & Support). Join our dynamic team and collaborate closely with other Allied Health Professionals within our multi-disciplinary model. Together, we aim to deliver tailored support that aligns with our clients’ goals.

The Benevolent IBIS Program’s purpose is twofold: to meet the increasing demand for behaviour support services and to ensure that our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) services are of the highest quality and compliance with standards. We are committed to providing new behaviour support staff with the necessary training, supervision, and support to build their capabilities.

Your Role

Your role will encompass a diverse caseload, ranging from children to adults with a variety of intellectual and psycho-social disabilities. You won’t be alone on this journey; our team is dedicated to your success. We offer weekly or fortnightly supervision from our Senior Practitioners, monthly communities of practice to facilitate learning and knowledge sharing among peers and ongoing guidance from our Allied Health professionals and your Team Leader.

Your Graduate Pathways Journey

Onboarding and Support:

  • You will be paired with a supportive peer buddy to help you acclimate to your new role.

Growth and Development

  • Access to various learning opportunities will be provided.
  • Weekly formal supervision sessions will be set up, offering a safe space for guidance and support from your seniors.
  • Monthly workshops will be held for you to expand and deepen your knowledge.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to gain exposure to practice in various areas of The Benevolent Society.

Your Duties

As a Graduate of our IBIS Program, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing Functional Behavioural Assessments and Behaviour Analysis Support Plans.
  • Liaising and consulting with clients, hospital and community staff, carers/family members, relevant agencies, and government departments as needed.
  • Providing direct behavioural interventions in both group and individual settings.
  • Utilizing behavioural, psychological, and evidence-based theories to design and implement program interventions.
  • Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Adhering to NDIS quality and safeguarding commission requirements.

Skills and Experience  

  • Qualifications in Psychology, Social or Health Sciences, Developmental Education / Teaching, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, or Nursing.
  • Evidence of self-assessment or evidence of application to Quality Safeguard Commission (or willingness to obtain, 3hr reimbursement provided by us) 
  • An ability to communicate and appropriately respond to the needs of people of all abilities and cultural backgrounds  
  • Work within a client-centric approach while maintaining a positive mindset  
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills  
  • Current driver’s license and willingness/ability to travel to clients
