About the Role
As an Occupational Rehabilitation Counsellor Case Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping injured workers reclaim their lives. Your mission is to provide tailored case management services, serving as an advocate and delivering high-quality assessment, care, and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial assessments to understand individuals’ situations, identify barriers, and establish tailored goals.
- Develop Graded Return to Work Plans, Graded Recovery at Work Plans, and Return to Employment Plans.
- Perform vocational assessments and labour market analyses to identify training needs and suitable job roles.
- Manage a caseload of up to 25 cases (full-time) or 5 cases per day (part-time) involving psychological or physical injuries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including Treating Health Professionals, Insurers, and Employers.
- Lead medical case conferences and workplace meetings as necessary.
- Provide vocational counselling and job-seeking assistance to clients.
- Attend weekly team meetings for professional development and case discussions.
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Injury Management, Workers Compensation, or Occupational Rehabilitation.
- Current industry registration (ASORC or RCAA).
- In-depth knowledge of workers compensation and privacy legislation (SIRA NSW Workers Compensation/CTP).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to quickly establish rapport.
- Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in clear and concise report writing.
- Initiative, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ethical and professional conduct, aligned with company core values.
- Competence in Microsoft Suite, Chameleon Case Manager or Vinci (or ability to learn new software).
- Willingness to travel for work with a current NSW Driver’s license.
Desirable:
- Minimum 3 years’ Occupational Rehabilitation Case Management experience.
- Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation.
