What is headspace’s Online Communities
Online Communities provides online peer to peer support via our online group chats to young people and family and friends. Online Communities is part of the headspace DMHP, a division of headspace National which provides online support via digital mediums to young people and families across Australia. The headspace Online Community aims to provide opportunities for meaningful connection, peer support and real-time discussion about specific topics with professionals and peer workers.
About the role
This role will work with the Online Communities team to provide online moderation and peer support of young people aged 12-25 years.
- Provide support to young people by using your lived experience to share, learn, and support one-another within our Peer Support Group chats.
- Be a part of a team of peer workers from across Australia
- Be trained in peer support principles and online moderation skills to create a safe space for young people to connect and share with each other.

Who we’re looking for
- Supportive young people to help headspaces online community and users via our online peer support group chats
- A friendly person to help moderate group chats and speak about your lived experience. This includes Monitoring messages from young people, reinforcing positive messages, and sharing your own experiences to support others
- Someone who understands current issues in mental health for young people

To be eligible for this position you must
- Have the right to live and work in Australia
- Willing to apply for Working with Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent, and/or pass all of the WWCC(s) required for this role (please note that for some roles, headspace requires WWCCs for other State/Territories in addition to your Home State)
- Satisfactorily undergo a headspace Police Check
- Have proof and be up to date with your Covid-19 vaccinations in accordance with the headspace COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Policy and any Government directives
