What is headspace National and our eheadspace team
Established in 2006, headspace is a well-recognised, national not-for-profit organisation making a difference to the lives of young people aged 12-25 years. The eheadspace program provides online and telephone mental health services to young people and their families as part of a multidisciplinary team.
About the role
The Online Community (OC) Senior Clinician is responsible for supporting the design, delivery, development and evaluation of clinical service delivery within the headspace online community.
The role will also provide clinical mental health intervention to young people and their families who are accessing headspace Online Communities and provide consultation and ad hoc debriefing to Online Peer Support Moderators and OC clinicians in order to support peer support service delivery to headspace Online Community service users.
Who are we looking for
- Approved tertiary qualification in an allied health discipline, including social work, psychology (clinical, counselling, 4+2 or 5+1 pathway), mental health nursing, and occupational therapy.
- Eligibility for membership of an appropriate professional body: Social workers are required by the Australian Government Department of Health to be eligible for full membership with AASW. Psychologists, mental health nurses, and occupational therapists are required to have full registration with AHPRA.
- Advanced level of clinical skills utilising best-practice models within (youth)mental health.
- Experience providing support to diverse user groups and demonstrated understanding of the specific needs of LGBTQIA+, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies and strategic directions of mental health services and literature on early intervention models for young people experiencing (or at risk of) a serious mental illness.
- Demonstrated experience in providing clinical supervision to clinicians or students.
