Online Youth Mental Health Clinician – Duty Role Orygen

Your new job

The Online Youth Mental Health Clinician will directly support young people using MOST throughout VIC, QLD, NSW, and the ACT mental health services. In this role, you will manage and respond to risk as it arises on the platform via completion of risk assessments, safety planning with young people and their families and liaising with services to support the mental health needs of young people.
  
Reporting to the Senior Clinician, you will:

  • Complete frequent safety checks on the MOST platform.
  • Respond to any risk that emerges via direct message, SMS or phone calls with the young person.
  • Maintain accurate records of engagement with young people.
  • Communicate with face-to-face clinicians to ensure they are updated on their young person’s involvement with MOST.

What you’ll need

You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to health and wellbeing outcomes for young people. The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work and Mental Health Nursing and current registration with AHPRA and AASW.
  • Previous experience with risk assessments and understanding of relevant escalation pathways.
  • An understanding of youth mental health systems and an ability to apply this knowledge to the Orygen Digital context.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to facilitate a therapeutic alliance via digital means.

This is a part- full time (0.4 – 1.0 FTE) position for until 30 June 2024.
