Operational Support Officer – Family Support Services Capital Capability Support

JOB DESCRIPTION

Capability Support is a provider of services to people living in the community. Capability was founded on the premise that we can do better for people living with disability, children, youth and families in the community, by providing flexible, personalised, high quality and professional supports.

Capability is providing Therapeutic Contact and Transport to Children and Young People with varied needs, including some with behaviours that present as complex.

We are seeking passionate, suitably experienced and qualified professionals to fulfil the role of a Operational Support Officer within the Family Support Services team.

The Operational Support Officer will assist the Family Support Services Manager with varied tasks including but not limited to day-to-day operations, Contact Centre maintenance, administrative tasks, assisting Family Support staff with shifts, providing supervision and additional tasks as directed.

The Operational Support Officer will be required to work in Capability’s office, in the community, and maintain flexible hours to accommodate the operational needs of the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a team leader role, have a strong understanding of trauma-informed care and be committed to delivering high quality supports.

As an Operational Support Officer for Family Services, you will be expected to:

  • Complete administrative tasks as directed by the Family Support Services Manager.
  • Establish relationships with Children, Young People and Families to empower positive relationships
  • Maintain Contact Centre’s to a high standard.
  • Assisting Family Support Staff with Therapeutic Contact Sessions with Children and Families
  • Providing support and assistance with day-to-day operational requirements alongside the Family Support Services Manager.
  • Compliance with all relevant legislations, policies and procedures.
  • Participate and lead Care Team Meetings with stakeholders in relation to Children and Young People
  • Demonstrating and modelling high standards and following all Capability policies and values

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Community Services/Youth Work/Early Childhood is desirable, but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a leadership role in both a team environment and under supervision.
  • Professional experience delivering supports from a trauma-informed background and managing complex behaviours.
  • High-level problem-solving skills with the ability to think respond quickly and appropriately to situations.
  • Excellent literacy and writing skills,
  • Report writing experience (desirable)
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Card (WWVP) or Children’s Check (NSW)
  • Police check undertaken in the last 12 months, or willingness to undertake one (this may include an International Police Check if you have lived overseas in the past 10 years)
  • A valid Australian Drivers License
  • Appropriate Working Rights in Australia
  • Current First Aid & CPR Qualifications
  • Reliable, Insured Motor Vehicle
