Critical Intervention Outreach Service – Outreach Caseworker (1 x female)

The Katherine Women’s Crisis Centre (KWCC) is passionate and focused, working to support and maximise the safety of women and their children experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence in the greater Katherine region. KWCC team consistently work together to create an environment conducive to healing. 

 

KWCC is a Not for profit organisation with programs aimed at preventing and addressing domestic and family violence by working with women, men, young people and children through its multiple programs.

 

KWCC prides itself on providing a safe, confidential environment for support, advocacy and assistance at a time when women need it the most. 

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

 

Critical Intervention Outreach Serv ice (CIOS) supports women and children who are currently experiencing domestic and family violence to enhance their safety and live a life of empowerment.

 

CIOS also has a unique component of engaging with men who use domestic and family violence to support them to stop their use of violence and lead a violence free life.  

 

CIOS aims to enrich women’s lives by supporting their individual choices. CIOS provides the following services:

  1. Risk assessment and safety planning
  2. Education on domestic and family violence
  3. Advocacy
  4. Case Management
  5. Assertive Outreach

 

 

ABOUT YOU 

 

As an Outreach Caseworker, you will have 

 

  1. Diploma or higher education in Community Services or related field,
  2. Highly developed interpersonal communication skills
  3. Strong advocacy skills
  4. Ability to screen and assess risk
  5. Sound knowledge of domestic and family violence and it’s impact on victim/survivor, children and community
  6. Knowledge of culturally appropriate case management support from a client centred, strengths based, trauma informed approach.

 

The role requires you to be resilient, practice non-judgement, have empathy, and walk alongside the women.
