Outreach Support Officer/Trainer ACE COMMUNITY COLLEGES LTD.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a result of the natural disaster that hit the Lismore region in February 2022, ACE Community Colleges have created this position to once again inspire lives and change futures in the local Lismore area.

ACE Community Colleges is a not-for-profit registered training organisation operating across three campuses in Lismore, Murwillumbah and Burleigh Waters. 

This new position, based in Lismore, will provide support to students to facilitate their successful engagement in VET qualifications and deliver training courses in foundation skills and employability skills.

For this role it would be highly desired if trainers had experience in coaching or mentoring, be able to quickly build relationships with people from varying backgrounds, have knowledge of the disadvantages being faced by job seekers and be proactive in helping people achieve their goals.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

  • Facilitate engagement with, motivate, and encourage VET students to achieve a successful learning outcome 
  • Train, assess, & and manage learners in accordance with the Foundation Skills Training Package;
  • Assist in facilitating the student enrolment process; 
  • Engage and support students through the learning process;
  • Provide flexible learning methods for students with varied abilities & motivation;
  • Be a collaborative & cooperative member of the team;
  • Complete all relevant paperwork for quality, reporting & audit compliance purposes.

To be successful in this position you must hold TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment as well as one of the following;

  • TAESS00009 Address Foundation Skills in Vocational Practice Skill Set; or 
  • a higher level education qualification, such as: TAE80113 Graduate Diploma of Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice (and its equivalent TAE70111); or
  • Bachelor of Education, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma of Education, or higher. This may include qualifications relating to TESOL, adult education or vocational education. 

Highly Desired Attributes:

  • Experience as a Trainer and Assessor
  • Reside in the Northern Rivers
