Paediatric Occupational Therapist Whole Family Health

JOB DESCRIPTION

About Us

We are a vibrant, family-run practice in Western Sydney, who are passionate about supporting people with disabilities and their families. Our multidisciplinary team includes speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, feeding therapists, a counsellor, and a music therapist.

The Role

  • We are looking for Occupational Therapists of ALL experience levels to join our team – both new graduates and experienced clinicians welcome!
  • You will assess and treat a primarily paediatric caseload of diverse backgrounds, with the occasional teen and adult if desired. Sessions can be individual, or joint with another allied health professional.

Why Work at Whole Family Health?

  • Compensation and Time Off: A competitive salary, which includes super, four weeks’ annual leave, generous PD budget and paid study leave.
  • Flexibility & Autonomy: Full-time and part-time hours available. We value a work-life balance; set a schedule that suit YOU! Most of our team does a 4-day week in clinic, and a work from home day.
  • Supportive Environment: Benefit from full-time administrative assistance, allowing you to focus on therapy! We have an open-door policy – full support, any time, from the bookings and management teams, and quarterly catchups to ensure we are looking after you.
  • Manageable Workloads: No overwhelming KPIs; we work with you to determine a sustainable caseload aligned with your capacity and experience. Reset with at least 15 minutes between EVERY session for notes and prep, as well as dedicated time for session planning each week.
  • Interest-Based Caseloads: We encourage all our therapists to indicate on our waitlist any clients that they would particularly love to work with! Whether it be a particular age range, diagnoses, or desire for variety, build a case-range that interests you. We also love supporting therapists to explore new areas of interest, and keenly build these into our services.
  • State-of-the-Art Therapy Facilities: Choose from over 30 therapy rooms, with engaging features such as pillow pits, rock-climbing walls, trampolines, ziplines, swings, a feeding room, and more! Access a massive range of resources from our toy library. If you see a need for any specific tools, we’re open to acquiring them!
  • Comfortable Staff Amenities: Free, privately fenced parking, and spacious staff areas with amenities like a kitchenette, conference room, and staff-only bathroom.
  • Community Feel: Enjoy team activities run by our Social Squad, like our monthly ‘Fun Friday.’ Know that your voice is always valued and heard; here, you’re not just an employee, you’re family.
  • Pets Welcome: Bring your pet to work – either for enjoyment or, if suitable, integrate them into animal-assisted therapy sessions!
  • Professional Development & Support: Engage in regular, structured support and learning, including:
    • Daily whole-team case conferences and twice weekly team-time, for internal PD.
    • Your own PD budget and PAID study leave, for external PD.
    • An experienced clinician as team-leader to provide both individual and team support.

Are you a New Graduate?

We have a comprehensive, structured new graduate program to kick-start your career! In addition to the above benefits, as a new grad you will also:

  • Gradually build to a full caseload, paced according to your needs – no overwhelming KPIs or deadlines. Participate in shadow sessions with any existing clients before they transition to you.
  • Receive individualised support from your team leader (a senior therapist) as required, including one-to-one supervision.
  • Weekly shadowing of an experienced therapist’s session, so you can learn how they progress therapy long-term.
  • Receive training in our assessment procedures so you are confident with application and interpretation before independently conducting them.
  • Structured learning goals based on our established list of core competencies, so that you have the skills needed to work with a varied caseload.
  • Any other additional support you would find helpful, we will always do our best to make happen!
  • Many of our new graduates stay with us for 4+ years!
