JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Paediatric Physiotherapist/key worker wanting to further advance their career as well as demonstrate dedication and commitment to work in accordance with Windermere’s values and behaviours. Whilst providing discipline specific support from 7-12 years, you will also support consumers with goals across other discipline areas as part of our key worker model from 0-7 years of age.

Windermere is an independent community service organisation working across the South East of Victoria to help those who need it most. Our unique range of services include; Family Health & Wellbeing, Childhood Development, Education & Support, Early Intervention Therapy Services, NDIS Support Coordination and Plan Management, Homelessness Support, Counselling Services, assistance to support victims of trauma, assault and violent crimes and Bushfire Recovery Support Services.

Due to continued growth and transformation of our team, Windermere is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Paediatric Physiotherapist/Key Worker to join a highly skilled and dedicated team of allied health professionals and early childhood education specialists to provide comprehensive support to children aged 0-12 with a range of complex disabilities.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • delivering a broad range of evidence informed intervention strategies, standardised assessments and parent training to increase active participation in social and educational settings for children;
  • provide key worker support through both telehealth and face to face consultations to build relationships in natural environments, schools and kindergartens as well as our modern office facilities and therapy spaces; and
  • liaise and collaborate with the early intervention and therapy services team, comprising of early childhood education specialists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, psychologists and dietitians to design and deliver comprehensive support to upskill families/carers beyond therapist sessions.

This is a full time position in which Windermere has developed a hybrid model of service delivery that can include working from home via telehealth, in natural settings, home environment and meeting with consumers within our offices in Narre Warren, Berwick, Cranbourne and Pakenham.

About you

  • You will be tertiary qualified in Physiotherapy with current and ongoing registration with AHPRA.
  • Using knowledge and experience to assess children from 0-12 with a variety of clinical and developmental needs and work collaboratively with other team members.
  • Building trusting working relationships with both children and families in addition to the Early Intervention and Therapy Service team.
  • Being open to continuous quality improvement where you can thrive in an environment that provides the opportunity to work autonomously and as part of a high performing team.
  • Holding a Current Victorian Drivers’ License, as this role involves sessions held in the consumers’ natural setting, including school, kinder and home environments.
