Your Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Paediatrician to join our team working at our Bayswater site.

The Aruma team are Human Rights warriors! Our Paediatrician will work in a multidisciplinary team of professionals committed to family centred practice. The role is paediatric specific, and the successful candidate closely liaise with all stakeholders to provide evidence-based services to children where there are concerns regarding the child’s development.

A day in the life of a Paediatrician

  • Examine clients to assess general physical condition.
  • Examine clients to assess growth and development.
  • Treat clients who have minor illnesses, acute and chronic health problems, and growth and development concerns.
  • Collect, record, and maintain client information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results.
  • Collect medical information from clients, family members, or other medical professionals.
  • Record client medical histories.
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialised medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury in infants and children.
  • Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with clients and parents or guardians.
  • Examine clients or order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosis.
  • Advise client, parents or guardians, and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Monitor client progress or responses to treatments.
  • Refer clients to medical specialist or other practitioners when necessary

About you

  • Commitment to Aruma’s Strategic Intent, Purpose, Values and Code of Conduct;
  • MBBS or equivalent degree enabling registration with the Medical Practitioners Board of Victoria
  • Registration with Medical Practitioner Board of Victoria.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain professional registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA) or other relevant body entitling practice in Victoria and must provide evidence of that registration to Irabina annually.
  • Hold FRACP (Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians) or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the capacity to interact with a broad range of clinical service providers
  • Commitment to providing services to people from diverse language/cultural backgrounds.
