Fixed-term, part-time opportunity
Highlighting the importance of this role
Reporting to the Service Manager, as a Parent Engagement Worker, you will be responsible for delivering high quality and culturally respectful educational support to families through the provision of parenting programs and playgroups.
No two days will be the same in this diverse role, however, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating the delivery of evidence-based parenting programs to parents and carers to assist their children’s social learning and skills development, utilising healthy emotional regulation strategies;
- Ensuring relevant legislation and frameworks are implemented to support best practice and minimise risk;
- Networking within the community to promote services and grow the client base;
- Facilitating play groups with children and parents;
- Consulting with colleagues from family support services, health service providers and key stakeholders to support children and families.
This opportunity requires the successful individual to work up to 20 hours per week, with work on a Wednesday and Fridays being essential. This fixed-term contract opportunity is through until the end of June 2024, with the possibility of extension.

This is a role working with people and as such, you should really thrive on those daily interactions. With excellent communication skills, you are capable of liaising comfortably with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
To be suitable for this position, your qualifications and skills for the role will consist of:
- Certificate III Early Childhood Education & Care or equivalent;
- Current driver’s licence;
- Experience in offering early childhood services;
- Experience in providing support, guidance or educational activities to parents /carers;
- Experience coordinating and delivering training programs.
