Real Futures is a majority Aboriginal-owned and staffed company. We provide tailored employment services, Community Development Program (CDP), Transition to Work (TtW), Disability Employment Services (DES) across Australia and have been successful in winning the new Parent Pathways Program.
Parent Pathways is about parents and carers and their individual needs. With the help of a qualified mentor, parents and carers can receive flexible support to assist with any personal, study or work goals.
A day in the life of our Parent Pathways Mentor can include, but are not limited to the following:
- Working with eligible parents of children under the age of six
- Maintain and support an active caseload
- Conduct parent assessments within the context of continuing education and career planning options.
- Help parents to identify their goals by providing career guidance and pathway planning and to choose a suitable activity that will assist parents achieve their identified goals.
- Develop, monitor and review a clear participation plan in consultation with parents on a regular basis.
- Develop a clear and sustainable strategy to form effective partnerships with key local external stakeholders including neighbourhood houses, community centres, training organisations, family support services and other relevant service providers.
- Link parents into appropriate local non-vocational support services.
- Align your day-to-day activities with Real Futures procedures and policies.
- Achieve individual KPI’s and targets as they are set out by the Parent Pathways Management.
- Ensure clearly documented individually tailored, high quality assessments and comments into the CRM, supporting all progress, plans, communications, and interactions you have with participants and employers.
- Provide assistance and information to participants and external partners in a professional, friendly and courteous manner and demonstrate positive values of integrity, teamwork and professionalism.
- Follow through on all participants’ requests within a 24-hour period.
- Ensure compliance with the Parent Pathways Agreement for all relevant activities.

Knowledge/Skills
- Experience in Community Service, Children, Youth and Families or Employment Services
- Administration experience – Experience using CRM and databases, intranets, and sourcing information via internet.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an outcome-based environment toward high performance results.
- Demonstrated ability to develop high quality, individually tailored service.
- Demonstrated experience in motivational interviewing techniques.
- Experience dealing with challenging participants and de-escalating situations of conflict.
- Exceptional organisational and time management abilities to manage competing priorities.
- Highly developed communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work within a team and autonomously

To be considered you must…
- Have full working rights in Australia
- Have a current driver’s licence and a comprehensively insured vehicle
- Complete an Australia History Criminal Check
- Have a current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain a Working with Children Check before employment
- Ability to work Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 5:00pm
