About You

We are seeking a down to earth individual who has a demonstrated hands-on approach, be able to think on their feet and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

You will be a kind, empathetic and culturally aware person dedicated to genuinely helping others. You will have the ability to mentor, motivate and inspire parents individually and in a group setting. You will build credible relationships with key stakeholders to deliver the right choices, achieved through the development of trust across all people we work with.

You will have the ability to advocate on behalf of parents to referral services and seek out and implement opportunities for participants. You will problem solve and prioritise tasks in this busy multi-faceted role. You will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail and ability to identify and meet the needs of individuals across multiple sites. To do this, you will have a good understanding of the local community. 

With our coverage across NSW, some travel will be involved with the role and you will hold a current C class driver’s licence.

You will have (or be prepared to obtain) a NSW Working With Children Check and National Criminal History Check.  Due to operating and security systems the role will also require you to have the myGovID app installed on a personal mobile device.

We deliver to over 80 communities across rural and regional NSW, covering around 70% of the state, delivering a range of Workforce Australia programs including Transition to Work, and employment services to the general community as well as being the Indigenous and Ex-Offender specialist provider.  We also deliver Disability Employment Services along with Employability Skills Training, Career Transition Assistance and Parents Next. About the Role

This is a Part Time Permanent role based in the greater Newcastle area servicing our Raymond Terrace and Salamander Bay sites.

As a Family Support Consultant, you will be part of a dedicated team supporting participants by delivering services and building on participants strengths in a child friendly environment. The role requires you to work collaboratively, connecting with the community to increase the participant caseload.

Some specific duties in the role include:

·         Identify and arrange suitable and meaningful activities for Participants.

·         Monitor and maintain contact and support with Participants who are linked to specific activities.

·         Conduct post-placement support activities and claim processing.

·         Complete all contractual claim requirements to ensure quality organisational outcomes.

·         Access Participant funding and complete and maintain all relevant documentation, utilising all relevant organisation and government systems.

·         Monitor and report on service excellence areas in line organisational purpose and values, as well as contractual requirements.
