ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE:
We have a permanent part-time position for an experienced Pastoral Care Officer. The primary purpose of the role is to provide excellent pastoral and spiritual care for patients, families and staff. You will be part of a dynamic and supportive team. The work of the Pastoral and Spiritual Services team complements and enriches clinical practice within the Mater Hospital. If successful, you will have scope for growth in your career.

ABOUT YOU:
You will have a background and qualifications in Clinical Pastoral Care Education (CPE 1), theology, pastoral counselling, psychology, religious education or equivalent.
You must also have:
- Understanding of clinical pastoral issues and employment experience in a healthcare or other complex setting or understanding of the Catholic tradition, the sacraments and liturgical life of the Catholic Church
- Understanding and commitment to the Catholic ethos of the organisation
- Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries (MAM), St Vincent’s Health Australia (SVHA) and Catholic Health Australia, Code of Ethical Standards
- Spiritual maturity and ability to appreciate differing value systems, beliefs and practices
- Availability to work weekdays and weekends including occasional on-call responsibilities
