Juniper has the opportunity for an experienced and skilled Pastoral Care Coordinator to join our team, to provide direct pastoral and spiritual support and co-ordinate the provision of these services to our residents, clients, staff and volunteers. We are seeking candidates who will contribute positively to the overall work of our Pastoral and Spiritual Care Team that includes the valuable contributions from our pastoral care Volunteers.

On offer for the successful candidate is a part time position working 15 hours per week at City of Bayswater, Embleton site.

Key Responsibilities of this role:

  • Provide appropriate pastoral and spiritual care in response to identified needs and referrals.
  • Promote holistic, person-centred care by assessing and evaluating residents’ spiritual needs to enhance their spiritual fulfilment.
  • Coordinate appropriate responses to needs through the direct provision of support or by arranging and facilitating other relevant services.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with staff and volunteers involved in the care of individuals and provide support to family members ensuring a team approach to pastoral and spiritual care.
  • Conduct regular church and memorial services.
  • Comply with Juniper values, policies and procedures and work within a Christian ethos.

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Completion of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) essential.
  • Experience in a pastoral care role, preferably within an aged care or health setting.
  • Able to exercise an impartial pastoral ministry to aged people, regardless of race, creed or faith, including an awareness of the core tenets of the main Christian denominations and major world religions.
  • Pastoral or theological training or qualifications (or training in a related field)
  • Membership of the Centre for Ageing and Pastoral Studies and/or Spiritual Care Australia and/or the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education of WA would be well regarded.
