About the Role:

Leibler Yavneh College seeks a part time (0.6) outstanding and experienced School Psychologist, commencing January 2023. They will provide professional expertise and support to assist students in achieving positive educational, developmental and learning outcomes through the delivery of psychology and wellbeing services.

In collaboration with relevant staff members, the School Psychologist will recommend and implement programs for students that have a focus on preventative and early intervention strategies; are responsive to identified personal, social, emotional and educational needs; and aim to foster resilience and personal skills development.

The School Psychologist will:

  • Provide timely individual and group services to students 
  • Liaise with external health professionals to enhance student support
  • Support College Leadership Team and staff to respond effectively to student welfare
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to design personalised plans for students
  • Engage with families to support their children and to strengthen home-school partnership
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to facilitate effective working relationships with key stakeholders in order to provide comprehensive support, case-management and referrals to support students educational and psychological wellbeing
  • Promote school wide mental health and wellbeing initiatives
  • School Psychologist: to conduct psycho-educational assessments as determined by Heads of School

Essential Skills:

The School Psychologist must be able to demonstrate:

  • An excellent level understanding of psycho-educational assessment (Psychologist)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of wellbeing and psychological practices
  • Excellent skills win the development of behavioural intervention
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Able to design and deliver a range of programs

Qualification and Accreditations:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Hold registration with Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC)
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check
