A rewarding and ongoing opportunity now exists for an experienced and engaging Pathways and Careers Counsellor to join Mentone Grammar in Term 1, 2023.
We are seeking applications from who proactive and respectful role models for students and staff alike who are passionate about career education and decision making regarding VCE subject selections and post-secondary education training options
The Role offers:
- 0.8FTE
- Ongoing, permanent, part-time position
The focus of this role is to ensure students, and their parents, are well equipped to make important decisions relating to further training, education and employment options. The Careers Counsellor is therefore responsible for the planning, implementation and facilitation of robust Career Education programs and activities for students in years 7-12.
The successful incumbent of this position will require:
Qualifications to a post-graduate level in Careers Education (Graduate Certificate/Diploma of Career Education and Development) or other relevant qualification.
Relevant skills/experience including events management, communication/marketing skills
Demonstrated ability to counsel and advise students on employment matters
Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff
Additional information:
Current VIT membership and/or Working with Children Check and Police check (or the willingness to obtain these)
