About the role
We have an opportunity for a Peer Support Worker to join our Amber Youth Wellness team on a full time basis.
This role will provide outreach mental health services to young people with the goal of being able to achieve their goals and make informed decisions. You’ll provide one-to-one peer support as well as group activities, use a trauma-informed youth friendly approach and develop peer support plans.
About you
You’ll have a passion for supporting young people to reach their full potential while also having:
- Certificate III in Youth Work or relevant field is highly desired
- Lived experience of Mental Illness
- Understanding of evidence-based service models for working with young people and their families
- Prior experience working with young people with psychosocial and mental health needs
- Drivers Licence
- Working with Children Check
- COVID and Influenza vaccinations are preferred but not required
- National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
