We are excited to be recruiting a team of Towards Zero Suicides (TZS) Suicide Prevention Peer Support Workers (PSW) to deliver a completely NEW way of providing care in our community.

About the Services
The Macarthur and Liverpool areas will each have the following two services:
1. TZS Safe Haven
2. TZS Suicide Prevention Outreach Service (SPOT)
SWSLHD is recruiting staff to work in both of these new services in Liverpool and Campbelltown. The other members of the team include the TZS Team Leader, Mental Health Clinicians and Senior Suicide Prevention Peer Support Workers.
What You’ll be Doing
Provide recovery orientated, evidence based peer support interventions to mental health consumers within a multidisciplinary team framework. This position collaborates with clinical staff in the provision of recovery orientated and consumer driven clinical practice by providing consultation in relation to a lived or living experience of suicidality. The Peer Worker is also responsible for undertaking designated administrative tasks necessary to support service delivery.

- Recognised Degree or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer.
Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or willingness to complete. - Lived experienced of a mental health problem or disorder and willingness to share as part of your work
- Demonstrated experience in working as part of a multidisciplinary team in a healthcare setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of consumer led recovery and recovery principles
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team and ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of people
- Evidence of knowledge and commitment to the application of quality improvement frameworks and evidence based practice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in a range of programs
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education
- Experience in planning, delivering and evaluating group and individual interventions
- Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
